Question

Neha told Arun and  me/I  to go to work ?

can any one please explain?

Neha-Subject here and Arun and me- Object of the sentence

try to remove the arun and.. then sentence will be -Neha told me to go to work - So I think Me is correct answer

Hi Arun,
Neha told Arun and me/I to go to work.

In this sentence, the correct choice is “me”. If we break this sentence into two single sentences, they will read:
1. Neha told Arun to go to work.
2. Neha told me to go to work.

In the second sentence, we will not say Neha told I. Hence, “me” is the correct choice.

Now let’s consider this sentence structure from where the doubt must have arisen:
1. Neha is shorter than Arun (is).
2. Neha is shorter than I (am).

Here in sentence 2 use of “I” is correct because the way “is” is understood in sentence 1, similarly “am” can remain understood in the second.

Neha and i have to clean the house.

When some one else is talking about you then "me is used"
When you are referring yourself then "I"is used.

subject  told  object  to go to work
 
  in objective case " me " is used

lets see one more example: invert the sentence

Arun and me/I told neha to go to work ?

in this case " I" will be used because subjective case is required.

Arun and I told neha to go to work ?
