MGMAT SC 5th Edition page 57 has following sentence mentioned:
Wrong: I want to retire to a place WHERE I can relax AND I pay low taxes.
I splitted this sentence into
I want to retire to a place WHERE (I (subject) can(verb) relax(object) AND I(subject) pay(verb) low(adjective) taxes(object) ).
Why is it wrong?
However, it mentioned: "I want to retire to a place WHERE I can relax AND WHERE I pay low taxes." as correct. I agree to right choice but why wrong choice is wrong?

you have to realize that a correct sentence should NOT open scope of ambiguity, and there is definitely an ambiguity in this sentence. this sentence seems to suggest that there are two things that are happening:
1) i want to retire to a place where i can relax
2) i pay low taxes
this interpretation does NOT make any sense !!
ALSO the way u r interpreting this sentence is a kind of FORCED interpretation that you are trying to make (of course you can argue that u can make such an interpretation BUT then there is no guarantee that everyone reading this sentence will read it that way) people can read the way i have dissected this sentence and that would give a wrong meaning!!)
so a correct logical sentence would be: "I want to retire to a place WHERE I can relax AND WHERE I pay low taxes.------------>ALWAYS remember that parallelism is NOT ONLY of grammar BUT ALSO, and more importantly, of coherent IDEAS !!!
