At one point, she believed GMAT wasn’t for her. After scoring 595, self-doubt crept in and she questioned her potential. But instead of quitting, she made the right strategic changes. The result? A remarkable comeback to 695. Check out how Saakshi did it.

I have given my GMAT on May 15, 2015. I got a dismal 600 Q:48 V:22...
Feeling very low.
I used EGMAT for SC which I found very useful. Just glanced through MGMAT book for CR and also e-GMAT CR course videos.
I prepared from OG and GMAT prep softwares.
I took GMAT prep exams one week before the exams :
GMAT Prep 1 : 690 Q:50 V:33
GMAT Prep 2 : 660 Q:50 V:30
bought the exam pack from GMAC and gave 1 where i score 630 Q:49 V: 26
After all this scored 600 on GMAT.
I cannot make out where i went wrong (of course verbal).
Can anybody help me out... I have planned to study after a small break. I have exhausted the materials I have (OG, GMAT Prep questions - official qns).
A major doubt :
1) Like in quants for example lets take this question
sqrt(1-((3/5)^2)) I can solve this and I can be sure the answer is going to be 4/5... For verbal Is it really possible answering questions in that way?
In verbal part of GMAT... I can do that only to a certain extent on SC ( probably on 650 level questions)
but on CR am clueles as to what is going. :
It would be of great help if someone clears my doubt and suggest me a way forward on the whole GMAT verbal to cross 40.
Pls help...
Thanks

1st thing , do not lose hope , take a break and target 6months from now. Dont think you can get from 22 to 40 without developing a habit of reading condensed passages and mastering comprehension. Remember, it is verbal score which impacts your overall more than the Quant score . Your Q48 signifies you have good grasp on quants concepts and you do not need to put more than 15-20% of prep time to get to 51Q.
As for verbal there is nothing much any course can do , atleast that what i think , you already know the negation technique and boldface Cr concepts and you even have mastered evaluate the argument type of question In CR, strength and weakening questions comes easy to you . do you think you need another course for it ? I dont think so. What we definitely need is to understand the passage (be it IN CR/RC) as good as we do understand when we read a condensed passage written in our native language(For me its HINDI) . And remember we have to do it in 1minute for CR and 3.5Mins for RC. Thats the challenge! ! With all this said, i would encourage you to read 3 passages everyday on different topics. You can check forums, people have already posted websites url for those.
btw, your gmat prep scores and actual gmat score are very off..have you already practised all gmat exam questions on gmatclub or other forums before writing gmat prep test? I strongly recommend that you leave one of the course's freely available questions on forums and buy their practise tests, but if this is not the case, then had you slept enough before exam day/were you nervous before the exam? Keeping your cool is also important before the exam, also the initial few questions on verbal not only decides your range of verbal score but also boosts your moral up so try to be more accurate atleast for 1st 15 questions.
I have to tell you this is one encouraging post for me. I still havent lost my confidence. I am not going to give up too. See Let me explain clearly. I am still not confident about strategies of CR and of course as you said RC improves by reading different passages everyday.
I will develop that habit for sure. Can you just help me with URLs for reading material that will help GMAT.
As far as GMAT Prep is concerned, I went through fair amount of Questions but when i wrote the test, I just came across exactly 2 questions (CR) which I read.
Yea I will give a break and start again from scratch in verbal.

Here is the post sent by one of the club member . newpapers-magazines-etc-to-read-134717.html For RC section there are few strategies which are taught very well in LSAT Powerscore Guide. go through it , you will surely like the guide. For CR as well powerscore critical reasoning bible is very resource.
The topic of these sentences tend to be social sciences / humanities / history -oriented and may give you a feel for the type of language you may see in common RC passages.
