I have doubt on Parallelism using open markers Consider the following sentences
Sentence_1:Mary wants to swim and dance tonight
Sentence_2: Mary wants to swim and to dance tonight


In sentence 1; swim is parallel to dance (Verb parallel to verb)
While in Sentence 2; "to swim" is parallel to "to dance" (Infinitives parallel to Infinitives) Why is option two considered more right of a parallel structure in GMAT and How to choose in such open markers if it is a case similar to sentence 1 or sentence 2

Please help me and if anyone can suggest me tips on utilising commas and semi colon with multiple open markers As I am making mistakes in multiple parallelism markers

Hi Deeptanshu, I don't view sentence 1 as wrong. Can you perhaps post some real GMAT questions that you are having problems with?

in some of the more and areas are a future
concern
This example is that of incorrect parallelism but as I see it these two froms are parallel as both are prepositions
This is an official gmat option from OG 2019 Verbal [ Please ignore the fact expansion of development sounds weird]

At the very least, to maintain parallelism, the sentence should be:

from expansion of development, from changes in climate, and from pollution, so that supplies in some of the more and areas are a future

What about sentence like she likes to dance and swim this sentence is also right just like she likes to dance and to swim so similarly shouldn't the above option be okay

Yes that's what I mentioned in my first post as well: She wants to swim and dance is correct.
