Let's say a person wants to see an ortopedician. He will do some research to check which orthopedician is good.
Now, how will he decide it - by checking how many people have benefitted from a particular orthopedician.
The higher the number of people who have benefitted, the greater are the chances that this person will also benefit. So, the higher number of people acts as a strengthener.
However, can a person say that if others have benefitted, he will also benefit for sure - No. Hence, the higher number of people cannot be the assumption behind selecting the orthopedician.
Hence, such past experiences can increase our belief in the conclusion, i.e. they can act as strengthener, but cannot ensure that conclusion will be true, i.e. they cannot act as an assumption.
