The average quantity of water in the lakes of the village of Criota has decreased by 10% this summer. Since fish population is usually proportional to the average quantity of water in a lake, the village head predicted that their net revenue from the sales of fish to neighboring villages will also decrease by about 10%. However, this revenue decreased by only 1% this summer. This less-than-expected decrease has been attributed to the fact that large quantities of black soil, which is rich in nutrients required for growth of fish, has been dumped into the lakes of Criota.

Conclusion: This less-than-expected decrease has been attributed to the fact that large quantities of black soil, which is rich in nutrients required for growth of fish, has been dumped into the lakes of Criota.

Clear causality argument.

How can we strengthen "1 causes 2" ? Show that 1 doesn't cause 2 or show that When 1 occurs, 2 occurs.

Now replace 1 and 2 as mentioned below

1 -> dumping of black soil
2 -> increase in fish population

Option B wins hands down.

A: Nothing known about shrimp's impact on fish sales
C: It's a Weakener
D: Nothing known about fungi's impact on fish sales
E. Irrelevant
