The popular notion that teachers are generally apathetic about microcomputer technology is false, or at least dated: a recently published survey indicates that 86 percent of the 5000 teachers who responded to survey questionnaires expressed a high level of interest in microcomputers.
Which of the following, if ture, would be most damaging to the argument above ?
(A) No attempt was made in the survey to determine whether the teachers who received questionnaires had any previous experience with microcomputers.
(B) Teachers who are interested in microcomputer technology were more likely then other to complete and return their questionaires
(C) Questionaires were sent to teachers without regard to their areas of subject-matter expertise or teaching experience.
(D) There have been several important developments in the classroom applications of microcomputer since the survey results were tabulated.
(E) The survey was conducted as part of a marketing study by a company that manufactures and sells computers.

(B) it is, because as the argument says 5000 responded to the survey, and as per (B) teachers who were more interested in MicroComputers responded to the survey then the argument looses its ground, as there may be lots of teachers who were not interested and hence did not respond to the survey.
(A) is irrelevant, it doesn't matter whether they had any prior experience or not.
(C) irrelevant, subject experties!!!!!
(D) developments after the survey will only streghthen the argument rather than to weaken it.
(E) this could be a marginal one, one may argue that companies had thier questionier biased one, but still it is not the best weakener.

agree with B
Popular belief: teachers apathetic to microcomputers
Author's argument: teachers are interested in microcomputers
NB: Author's argument relies solely on the results of the recent survey, therefore the easiest way to weaken author's argument is to challenge/find some flaw in the survey method.
have to ...g with B afeftr all smashing said so...
also a little on weakning the statement Q = always watch out for any ans that 1) which is relavent to argument and neagtes the conclusion..and
2) that which refutes the assumption
the asumption here is that ''since 86% of the teachers who answered the questionares have a preference for the subject'' the notion is outdated or not there any longer
now taken true B refutes the assumption!
hope that helps! hey buddy dharmen how are u long time do reply...
