There is no problem between probably and maybe as any answer choice with "more" is incorrect => AD out.

C is just a trap, and E is awkward, wordy, unclear.

So B is the answer

maybe is used only when "maybe A or B"
Here probably is the correct usage.

Also between most and more....most is uncountable and correct.
more is countable hence cannot be used as the resistance is not countable.

hence B

I answered B as well. But nice explanation above (for may be vs probably).

I narrowed down the choices between more and most. The correct answer should contain most because it is being compared to more than two choices. I couldn't explain why I picked probably over may be (B and C). Probably felt right to the ear and may be didn't.

B.

Probably over maybe or may be

Most over more as there are more than two in the group.

Of the different psyches, the Irish psyche is maybe the more resistant to psychoanalysis.

(A) is maybe the more resistant to psychoanalysis.
(B) is probably the most resistant to psychoanalysis.
(C) is may be the most resistant to psychoanalysis.
(D) is probably the more resistant to psychoanalysis.
(E) is, maybe, the psychoanalysis to which is most resistant.
Definitely B. You have to use the superlative form when comparing more than two things. So "most" is the correct word to use in place of "more". That eliminates answer choices A and D. E is out because its awkward and wordier.
Between B and C, I pick B because its more concise than C. You should always eliminate any extra "BE" form of verb from the answer choices for better concision.
