According to the source, there is a flaw in A.

This is  supposedly  one of the most difficult SCs testable.

Consider the logic here: Voyager entered the record book for being the first aircraft to circle the globe. Thus, becoming the ...... should be the fact happened before Voyager entered the record book.
B is wrong because " becoming" must be of the noun Voyager, not the circumnavigation.
C is wrong also because of illogical order of facts.
in D : as it uses "and" the verb "enter" must be "entered" instead of "entering" to maintain the parallelism.
I'm left with E.

*NOTE : a semicolon can also be used to separate closely related independent clauses, for example: 
My grandmother seldom goes to bed this early; she's afraid she'll miss out on something.

I'd pick C,

I think the modifier is wrong in B. becoming refers to circumnavigation
In D, Think it should be entered instead of entering.
My first guess was A but I think the second modifier is wrong. 
Should it not be became instead of becoming
