Ignore the 2nd portion between commas.
Author is referring to a particular canoe. Decision is which or that,
We have to refer to a canoe having a specific condition, partially completed but fully buried. this eliminates A.
C & E - use which, so eliminated.
We have B & D, partially completed makes sense in D. Hence, decision is D.

thanks! it makes now since which on what is called canoe isn't really pointing out a specific canoe, but general name of it.
