Still in a dilemma whether to chose D or E. I guess will take D because Although skiers can choose among various slopes, there are no slopes without music. A but before there would have been nice

C says skiers can choose between music and not slopes !

In E the last fragment is awkward - but no slopes without music

that leaves D as the answer and the meaning makes sense too.
