The option D says reserves eating two species of bamboo unless there is comma. But in the actual option there is no comma. In this case D does not stand and as everybody says C is right. Can somebody explain this?

Did you get this from SC1000? I hear that there are many mistakes in the OA and I really question that the answer is D. For one, D makes it sound as if the panda goes around eating all day (i.e. eats and roams at the same time). I think (C) is much clearer that the panda engages in separate activities.

While C and D are both grammatically correct, C is more concise. I'm really curious to know what the OE says about C.

This seems to be the case of superficial parallelism.

D: the giant panda roams the mountainous government-protected reserves eating two species of bamboo that grow in the mixed forests and feeding for 12 to 16 hours a day.

In the answer choice D the emphasis is given on the main point which is "the giant panda roams the mountainous government-protected reserves ".
The other two points are made subordinate by the use of eating and feeding.
