Essays
Question 1 (750 words): Give us a brief assessment of your career progress to date. In what role do you see yourself working in immediately after graduation and what is your longer term career vision? How will your past and present experiences help you to achieve this? How will the London Business School MBA Programme contribute to this goal? Why is this the right time for you to pursue an MBA?

Question 2 (300 words): Give a specific example of when you have had to test your leadership and team working skills. Given this experience what role will you play in a first year study group?

Question 3 (300 words): Student involvement is an extremely important part of the London Business School MBA experience and this is reflected in the character of students on campus. Please describe how you will contribute to student clubs and the community and why?

Question 4 (300 words): London Business School offers a truly global and diverse experience. Describe any significant experiences outside of your home country or culture. What did you gain and how will your experience contribute to London Business School?

Question 5 (150 words: Choose ONE of the following options.

Major Projects

Applying what you're studying to real-life contexts is a key aspect of learning on the London Business School MBA. This is highlighted by the project work conducted on the Programme. There are two major curriculum-based projects, both of which are compulsory:

Organisational Audit
During the Managing Organisational Behaviour core course each MBA study group conducts an Organisational Audit on a company of their choice. The audit is tailored to the individual needs of the company. Study groups work with their chosen organisation to agree on the focus and scope of the investigation. Team members gather information through interviews, focus groups or surveys. They share emerging findings with the organisation and present a written report at the end of the project. The audit enables students to apply their knowledge and expertise, and demonstrates the value of their MBA training. Many students describe this as the most valuable learning experience of the Managing Organisational Behaviour course.

The Second Year Project
The Second Year Project is the culmination of your MBA. It's a team-based consultancy exercise that makes use of everything you've learned in class. In a team of two or three you'll analyse and evaluate a tangible business problem for your project sponsor. Past sponsors include global companies, start-ups, charities and NGOs. The project is a superb chance to build networks - some students receive permanent job offers through their project. It's also a chance to earn - you'll negotiate the terms and timetable with the client - or to work pro-bono for a worthy cause.

In 2008 and 2009 the average paid Second Year Project daily rate ranged from £100 to £300 per day, for between 25 and 30 days work.

Language Exit Requirement
Quote:
Every London Business School MBA graduate must achieve competency in one language other than English by graduation.

If you do not have competency in a language other than English upon entry, you'll need to reach Level 2 in a second language by graduation (Level 1 is Basic, Level 5 is fluent).

To get to this level you can:
  • study one of the languages offered at London Business School
  • study independently
  • combine a School course and independent study.

If you're already competent in another language when you start the MBA, you can still study a language as part of your programme. Many of our students choose to study a third, fourth or fifth language.

Hi,

For students who can't afford all tution costs, is there any scholarship program in LBS? Also, what are the TAs and RAs available for students of LBS?

I am Manikanth from India and got a GMAT score of 730 and have 4 yrs of IT exp. I am financially weak and looking for Bshools that provide good financial aids to students.

Any suggestions on European schools with good fundings?

hello ,
i am a final year student of computer science engineering ,from india. plz tell me :
1. i want to pursue one year accelerated mba in hedge funds . i don't have any undergraduate degrees or certificates in business . so am i eligible to do so ?
2. what are my chances of getting admission and scholarship in following colleges ?
