Nikhil - thank you for the shoutout.
harshsax:
You have a compelling profile for Ross. A few tips for you:
1. If you can, apply in R1. While there is no difference between the rounds technically speaking, it's best to get ahead in the process for potential scholarships, waitlist implications, etc. On a similar note, make sure you are reaching out to Ross (and other programs) to express your interest. Attend virtual seminars, connect with current students and alumni, and do general desktop research.
2. Double down on your extracurricular activities. You have listed a few things (Rotoract, SEVA, cooking) so hopefully you have some meaningful contributions you can speak to in your application. If these are somewhat scant, start raising your hand to get more involved and/or start an initiative that shows you have leadership that extends beyond your day to day work.
3. There isn't much you can do about your GPA, but you have a solid GRE score. You should be fine for Ross, but bear in mind this could be an issue which unfortunately you can't change. I would make sure your recommenders speak to your technical competencies, assuming they are comfortable with that assessment.
Other than that, make sure you have killer essays and solid recommendation letters.
Good luck and please reach out if you need more help, especially as you get closer to the release of applications in the late spring / early summer.
