The graph compares sales revenues for five software firms over four years. The area of each circle corresponds to the amount of sales revenue a firm earned in one year. If no circle is shown, the firm earned no revenue in that year.
Use the drop-down menus to create the most accurate statements based on the information in the graph.
Only in did every firm in the graph earn revenue.
Only in did every firm except one increase revenue from the year before.

Only in did every firm in the graph earn revenue.
Only in did every firm except one increase revenue from the year before.
For the first drop-down, we are looking for a year in which every firm earned revenue. That means we need a vertical column where each company has a circle. The only year where all five companies have circles is 2005.
Drop-down 2:
For the second drop-down, we are looking for a year in which every firm except one increased revenue from the year before. That means we check from one year to the next whether the circles get larger, allowing for exactly one exception. From 2004 to 2005, Alpha, Metro, Dingo, and Zephyr all increased, while Cytex decreased. That fits the requirement. In other year-to-year comparisons, more than one firm failed to increase. So the correct year is also 2005.
Ans: 2005 Drop-down 1: We need the year where *every firm earned revenue*. That means looking for a column where all five companies have circles. The only year that shows circles for all five firms is 2005.
Ans: 2005 Drop-down 2: Now we’re looking for the year where *all firms except one increased their revenue* compared to the previous year. From 2004 to 2005, Alpha, Metro, Dingo, and Zephyr all grew, while Cytex decreased. That makes 2005 the correct choice again.
