If x is a positive integer greater than 1, does x have at least 3 positive integer factors?
(1) x is even. Clearly insufficient: if \(x=2\), then the answer is NO but if \(x=4\), then the answer is YES. Not sufficient.
(2) x is a factor of 38. The factors of 38=2*19 are: 1, 2, 19 and 38. If \(x=2\), then the answer is NO but if \(x=38\), then the answer is YES. Not sufficient.
(1)+(2) If \(x=2=even\), then the answer is NO but if \(x=38=even\), then the answer is YES. Not sufficient.

B would be sufficient to answer ...am i missing something...?
It's not clear why do you say that (2) is sufficient. Yes, the number of factors of x is four. But x is not the number of factors of 38, it IS a factor of 38 (1, 2, 19 or 38). If \(x=2\), then the answer is NO (x has less than three factor) but if \(x=38\), then the answer is YES (x has more than 3 factors). Not sufficient.
