-4...-3...-2...-1...0...1...2...3...4
stmt-1:
(k + 4)(k –3) > 0 from this we get the range for k i.e k lies outside of -4 <= k <= 3
is k < 3 if k = 3.5 then No
is k < 3 if k = -4.5, we cannot take this value as –4 < k < 4.
hence K < 3 not true. Definite answer. Sufficient
Stmt-2: k > 0
k can be 1 or 3.5
insufficient.
Answer should be A.

lets start with easiest statement
stat2 : clearly insuff.
stat 1: both (k+4) (k-3) are positive or negative..
case 1 : both positive
(k+4)>0 and (k-3) > 0
k > -4 k > 3
combined range will be 3<k<4
case 2 : Both negative
(k+4) < 0 and (k-3) <0
k<-4 k<3
combined range k<-4 ,,,irrelevant as the range given the question stem says -4<k<4
hence clearly k>3 , hence no to the question ,,,suff
ans A
