(1) c < a + b + 5
(2) a + b + 5 > 0

If a + b + c < 0, is c < 5 ?
(1) c < a + b + 5.
Recall that we can add inequalities when their signs are in the same direction.
Add a + b + c < 0 to c < a + b + 5:
(a + b + c) + c < a + b + 5
2c < 5.
c < 2.5. Sufficient.
(2) a + b + 5 > 0.
Recall that only apply subtraction when their signs are in the opposite directions.
Subtract a + b + 5 > 0 from a + b + c < 0:
(a + b + c) - (a + b + 5) < 0;
c -5 < 0;
c < 5. Sufficient.
Answer: D.
