If \(\frac{a}{b} = c\), what is the value of ac?
(1) \(\frac{b^2}{a} = 6\)
(2) \(\frac{a}{b} = 4\)
(1) \(\frac{b^2}{a} = 6\)
(2) \(\frac{a}{b} = 4\)

\(ac=\frac{a*a}{b}=\frac{a^2}{b}\).
So, we are asked to find the value of \(\frac{a^2}{b}\).
(1) Clearly not sufficient.
(2) Not sufficient as well
(1) and (2) taken together results in \(a=96\) and \(b=24\). This is sufficient to find the value of \(\frac{a^2}{b}\).
Answer: C

Given \(\frac{a}{b} = c\).....(i)
& \(ac = ?\)
Statement 1:
\(\frac{b^2}{a} = 6\)....(ii)
Solving (i) & (ii), we get, \(c = b/6\) & \(ac = b^3/36\)
Statement 1 is alone is Not Sufficient.
Statement 2:
\(\frac{a}{b} = 4\)
Hence \(c = 4\).....(iii)
Statement 2 is Not Sufficient.
Combing both statements, we get, \(b= 24\)
& \(ac = {24}^3/36\)
Combining the 2 Statements is Sufficient.
Answer C.
