If S is a sequence of consecutive multiples of 3, how many multiples of 9 are there in S?
As the terms are consecutive multiples of 3, there will be one multiple of 9 in a set of 3 consecutive multiples.
(1) There are 15 terms in S.
So there will be 5 multiples of 9.
But say had there been 16 terms, we could have had 5 or 6 as the answer. If the first term were a multiple of 9, then 6: 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th and 16th. But if the second time as a multiple of 9, then 5: 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th and 14th.
Here answer is 5.
Sufficient
(2) The greatest term of S is 126.
We do not know how many consecutive multiples are there.

if n= odd =1, then, terms divisible by 9 = 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th and 15th (5 terms)
if n= even=2, then, terms divisible by 9 = 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th and 14th (5 terms). Sufficient.
Stat2: The greatest term of S is 126. we don't anything about nos. of terms.Not Sufficient.
So, I think A.
