What is the value of y?

(1) |x| ≤ y ≤ -|x| --> from |x| ≤ -|x| we can get that 2|x| ≤ 0 --> |x| ≤ 0 --> x = 0. So, we have that 0 ≤ y ≤ 0 --> y = 0. Sufficient.

(2) |y| ≥ x ≥ -|y|. |y| ≥ -|y| holds for any value of y. Not sufficient.

Answer: A.
