If x and y are consecutive even numbers, what is the value of x + y?
(1) At most one of x and y is positive
So, two cases
a) None is positive: The largest value of x+y is 0+(-2) or -2, and all other values (-2)+(-4) or (-100)+(-102) etc are possible.
b) One is positive: The largest value of x+y is 0+(2) or 2, and all other values 0+(-2), (-2)+(-4) or (-100)+(-102) etc are possible.
