If x is not 0 , is x>1?
Statement (1) x/|x|<x
x=2
2/2=1 and 1<2
x=-2
-2/|-2|/2= -1 and -1>-2
x= 1/2
(1/2)/|(1/2)|= 1 and 1>1/2
Statement I is valid only when x>1.
Clearly sufficient.
(2) x=|x|
x=2, 2=|2| and x>1.
x= 1 1=|1|and x is not greater than 1.
Clearly insufficient.
Option A is the answer

Hi The answer shud be C.
With prompt 1 the two answers you could get is either x is greater than 1 or x is greater than -1 but less than 0.
With prompt two you get a few different options like (1/2) and 2.
Put them together - you get the correct answer.
