Is \(\frac{3}{x − 2} > 0\) ?
fraction > 0 means both numerator and denominator have same sign.
Thus question becomes is x-2>0? Or is x>2
(1) \(\frac{1}{x − 2} > 0\)
both numerator and denominator have same sign.
So x-2 is also positive as 1 is positive.
x>2.
Sufficient
(2) \(\frac{−2}{x − 2} < 0\)
numerator and denominator have opposite sign here.
So x-2 is positive as the numerator -2 is negative.
x>2.
