Hey Everyone,
I am asking for some help/guidance on what would be my best options in studying for the Quant and Verbal sections of the GMAT. To give you some background information on where I am at I recently decided to study abroad and complete a masters, however I found out that I needed a minimum of 600 in the GMAT as a prerequisite to get in to the course.
Due to time constraints and availability I sat the GMAT recently on 4 days notice without studying for the exam. I was not able to rely on any previous knowledge to help me get through the exam because I did not do any algebra, arithmetic or geometry in high school and have never done so before. To say I was ill-prepared is a huge understatement and as a consequence I scored a 310 (19 for Verbal and 12 for Quant). I have rebooked my next exam for around the 10/5 and for the next 7 weeks my current situation allows to me to dedicate at least 6 hours per day on studying for the GMAT. My area of focus for the next exam is only for the Quant and Verbal parts as the school I am applying for only takes in to account these 2 sections.
Taking my situation, previous experience and current study hours dedicated to getting a 600 in to account what sort of study guide or plan would you recommend? I would like to get an online tutor a few session per week to bring me up to scratch with the quant section so if any one has any recommendations for a suitable tutor that would be great also.

hi,
A score of 300 shows lack of basics in Both Quant and Verbal..
But having said that and knowing that the exam was given without any prior studies, 2-3 months can get you to a score of 600 if adequate amount of time is spent with correct FOCUS.

What is the latest that you can take the GMAT and still apply to this Program? I ask because 7 weeks of study time will probably not be enough for you to raise your score 300 points. You'll likely need 3 months (or more) of consistent, guided study. Considering all of the 'math' that you're going to have to learn, you're going to have to build up your general thinking/math skills AND your GMAT Tactical/Test-taking skills. While all of that is doable with enough time, the amount of material and effort will be difficult to properly work through given what you've described.
