I took the GMAT last weekend and scored a 540( 36Q 27V). While taking it, I felt like I did really bad on the math and good on the verbal, it turned out to not be the case lol. I have hardly any work experience and a 3.2 overall GPA as a business major. I am 22 and recently graduated and felt like getting the GMAT out of the way while I have more time. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to study to improve my score??? I'm not looking to get a 700 or 750, but somewhere in the mid-600 range would be great. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!!!
If you could explain here about your preparation strategy you followed and your background, that would help everyone to suggest the possible improvement...

I agree with Dawgie - I would first off make sure you want to actually go to business school. If so, then I would spend some time poking around and start to develop your study plan. Take a practice test and note where your real weaknesses are. Then focus on those areas - using an error log whenever you take tests or quizzes. If you do this you should easily be able to bump your score up around 100 pts.

well I will say graze for few days on this site and you will understand each and every thing related to the GMAT....:)

Agree with dogye and all first analyse why you want to take the GMAT and how much effort you can put to get succed.

Aim high atleast 700 so that you can land in 650 +............:P

MGMAT books are a great way to start. I am going through them for my preparation and is very easy to follow them.

Needless to say, following the posts/experiences on this site is very encouraging.

Good luck.

I am in the same boat. I took the Gmat and scored 600 and at first didn't think I would take it again because I didn't want to deal with it anymore but I later decided to retake it and made a study schedule. I think that is the most important thing to first print out a realistic schedule that you know you will be able to follow. I took a kaplan class the first time but this time I bought the 8 strategy books by MGMAT and I am doing one book per week as well as a practice test per week. I am also using the error log which is the 2nd most important. Whatever you do do not give up keep pushing and stay active in this club the members are very supportive and keep you focused on the number one goal. Good Luck to you
