Congratulations, a lot of hard work paid off.

Quote:
I decided to take January off with a clear plan: work vacations were arriving, so I decided to take the 2-week manhattan bootcamp in NYC with a friend. The experience was great. I'm not sure 2 weeks of classes helped me that much but it provided the boost I needed to go back out there and beat the gmat.

Wow, really?! Could you elaborate on why you didn't think this 2-week bootcamp didn't help you?

I think the bootcamp helped, but I'm not 100% sure. I mean, 2 weeks of a lot of information is a little overwhelming. I think going back with some knowledge and the Manhattan books and going over them over 2-3 months was what really sealed the deal.

I believe for those who have fundamental weaknesses (my case with math), it is not a fast journey. You need a few months and a lot of numbers to really get the concepts.

2 weeks do not do that for you.

Parabéns.

Do you have any tips on how you've tackled sentence correction? I'm also a non-native speak and SC is my weakest section.

I used the Manhattan SC book. I read the chapters, did the in-action and OG questions. And, I did the last 60 SC questions on the Verbal 2nd Edition.

I guess I just practiced sentence correction, something I hadn't done. I have to say that during the test I used my ear more than I thought I would. I did focus on parallelism and on modifiers, but I chose a lot of questions that just sounded better to me.

Guys, I have a question, shouldn't my split be closer to a 720 than a 710? Just read a post here of someone who took the test in 2010 and got a 44q/42v and also got a 710. I got a 46q. Just wondering... Does the scale changes a lot from year to year?

Wow congrats on your score!

What is your opinion on the advanced material for MG? I am in a similar boat with you (looking to get a 45,46) and i have a strong verbal. Any suggestions?

gmat700hope- First of all congrats for breaching your target. I guess you can now ask "bb" to get your profile name changed to gmat700plus 8-)
Coming to the scores - I am not sure whether the scales have changed from 2010 to 2011. Why don't you go and check at mba.com ?
I remember they have the scaled scores and corresponding percentiles, though not sure if the data is latest.
