Hi All
Just to keep you updated--this morning (Sept 26th 2011) I called PearsonVUE and ask if there an Incident raised by my test center on my computer malfunction issue and to surprise, test center has not raised any incident, which proctor told me that she has on test day.
Then I had to tell entire story about computer malfunction to the PearsonVue helpline. They raised the incident. The person asked whether I want to re-schedule the exam.. I said offcourse I want and I told them that first void this test and make sure that this score does not reflect in my profile and university should not received the same. They told me that they need to investigate the case (I guess they will call the test center and confirm from the proctor whatever I told them) and let me know my 2-3 business days.

Thanks

Just called the test center and they confirmed that they have also raised the incident from their side.

After 2-3 days PearsonVUE will let me their decision.

Thanks

Don't worry - I am sure this score will not count in any respect and you will get another crack at it.

On the plus side, you have a fair idea of what the real GMAT questions are like, and can really nail it next time!

Update--

Yesterday I got an email reply from PresonVUE saying that they have investigated the case of Computer malfunction and confirmed that whatever problem I faced in test were true. . They have allowed me to reschedule the exam though after 31 days at no cost. This offer is valid till 12 months.
The part they have not mentioned in the email is- what will happen to my malfunctioned Score? I have selected 5 universities to send the score. I big appeal is- Please don't count my last test as an attempt.

So with these concerns I called PearsonVUE today, the customer rep said its not possible to revert back the score once sent to Universities. I argued (thanks to my CR knowledge  )..and I convinced her to raise a request to cancel my score or give me a letter mentioning that my GMAT was canceled bcos of Computer issues.

Now the I start my GMAT journey again. It is hoped that (not hopefully -SC rule :P ) I will give test by Nov end.

Thanks

This is an exceptional story! I'm sorry that you had to go through this ordeal, but in the end everything worked out. You should be commended for keeping your cool while fighting for your rights. You even came here to ask for advice - a very cool-headed action. Many would have been too worked up over this to stay focused.

On the negative side, GMAC should have been quicker with its response and not so resistant to your reasonable requests - even when we consider the obligatory confirmation process involved. Luckily, they saw your point and agreed with you. Still, I'm not sure whether the outcome would have been the same without your persistence. Congratulations on that! Hopefully, next time I can congratulate you on a really high GMAT score.
