Very inspiring - hearing first hand from a stationed officer about life in Afghanistan... you richly deserve the Kudos for your perseverance and effort.

Congrats man, that sounds very inspiring given the amount of time you put in your efforts and the place you are stationed at.

Wow, scoring 670 while working in Afganistan is awesome! Kudos!!

I'm sure you'll score much better if you are given time. Good luck for the GRE, PE exam and GMAT retake! :)

If I put in the time to retake the GMAT, I would like to boost my score by at least 50 points, so 720. I actually find it easier to study here because there is nothing better to do.

Man, you are awesome. I do agree that in Afghanistan you can put effort in studying since you have little to do and no one to disturb but you need to be mentally prepared to do so. Kudos from me. I hope you hit that 700+ and also get into the school of your choice.

Cheers!

you can totally do it! i was in afghanistan the first time i took the gmat and the rocket attack alarm went off smack in the middle of my test!! you're almost guaranteed a SIGNIFICANT raise in your score after you redeploy and study in the comforts of your own home without the extra distractions or fatigue...

I think you have an entire essay, good enough for at least 3 schools in your post. :-D

Also if you plan to apply to B-schools in 2 years, why not hold off on taking the GMAT again till your deployment is over and enjoy your break with friends and family. If you got a 670 under such tough conditions, I don't think you will have a problem boosting your score (if you wanted to)
