Hey Man,
Really sorry to hear about your poor experience with taking the GMAT at Nanjing University. They never had GMAT when I was last there, or maybe I did, I just didn't realise! I guess its a new thing? I understand your frustration, I suffer from dyspraxia and am severely affected by noise in exams. Back in the UK I failed numerous civil service entrance exams, assessment centre tests for grad schemes and scored badly on some college papers due to noise from construction, rude and inconsiderate test takers etc. I know the efficiency of things in China is not good but it really does sound like there's not a lot the invidulators could do. Certainly though, they way you were dealt with has made me reconsider ever taking the Gmat here. Without meaning to sound like I'm teaching grandma to suck eggs, have you ever tried using earplugs? I found these are essential even in the UK where there's far fewer people and development and noise pollution levels are generally speaking much lower, so in China I kept at least several pairs in my pocket at all times, and refused to take them out, even when I went out for dinner with my girlfriend after tests. "Hearos" skull screws are the best I've ever used. Very comfortable, plus there could be a 88 storey hotel under construction next door to your exam hall and you wouldn't be able to hear a thing!
