Hi all,
I took GMAT gone saturday ( 26 july ) and scored a miserable 670 ( verbal 31, quant 49 ). Never expected this result after a decent preparation that I underwent in last 3 months. After finishing the exam, I expected at least 700 but that was not to be. I am primarily targeting Indian B schools ( ISB, IIM, xlri gmp ).
I have few questions in which everybody's advise.
1) Should I go for retake.
2) which test series should I take now . I took mgmat tests ( the 6 tests )..would kaplan be a good choice ?
3) what time frame should I choose for retaking ?
4) what should I do different this time ? to increase verbal from 31 to 38-39
5) anything else -- anything ...for which you want to advise me.
Expecting some motivational as well as realistic answers to keep me going. Just in case somebody wants to know. I am a guy of mixed profile. Spend starting 5 yrs in software with names like Infy, RBS and the rest with analytics start ups for last 3 yrs.
Please shoot.

670 is not a miserable score, especially considering your target schools ISB, XLRI GMP etc. ISB average GMAT is 705 and average work ex is 4-5 years.
GMP gmat is even less. As you are targeting Indian schools would suggest you to talk to admission consultants based in India.
Having said that if you feel your GMAT score is not at par with your test score, you can give GMAT another shot. Work on verbal but don't ignore quant, Q51 V31 is equal to 700.

Thanks abhiJ..I feel I could/should have scored more because in all the mgmats, I scored 34-37. Quant was an assumption for me for a 49 or a 50 ( I have heard its very tough to get 51 in quant ). I never felt it was going bad to get 31 in Verbal.
anyway..on a second thought, I think it'd have been 31.3 31.4 in verbal as generally 49, 31 generally translates to 660.
Is there anyway to know what you messed in verbal in gmat ? I mean, how does one know what did he mess ? rc/sc/cr ?
