GMAT -1 -2012
In 2012 , I wanted to complete GMAT. I registered a course at Princeton Review. I neither attended classes regularly nor completed the given home work.
I was in thirst of GMAT and I wanted to just make in attempt. Before my exam I reviewed basics and took a GMAT Prep Test - I scored around 450.
On the GMAT day I got - 330
It didn't bother me much.
GMAT -2 -2013
In 2013, I made up my mind to do hell lot of practice and give GMAT. I started practicing and taking mock tests.
This time I studied for about 40 hours over a period of 2 months and gave mock tests in July.
2-Jul-13 - Princeton Review - 540
6-Jul-13 - MGMAT - 530
11-Jul-13 - Kaplan - 550
I had my exam scheduled for end of July but by seeing such low scores I pushed my exam to August and then to September.
Jul to Sep: I didn't study much because of many reasons.I purchased e-gmat, didn't utilize it.
Finally I decided to attend exam in September.
GMAT -2 - 480
GMAT -3 -2014
From September-2013 to Decemeber-2013 I didn't think about GMAT but early January I decided and scheduled exam in mid Feb. After seeing my mock results I pushed my exam to April -2014.

After 5-Apr-2013 - I took GMAT Club tests , I scored around 38 -43 in quants and 26-32 in verbal.
This time I didn't want to push my exam but to attempt and to score 600 - 620.
GMAT - 3 - 560 Q 40 V 27
Timing was biggest problem. In quants I had only 17 minutes for 17 questions, this would have pushed my score down.

After all these stints I increased my target to 750. I have decided to work my ass off to get the desired score and not to book exam until I score 750 in my GMAT practice tests.
I'll be using MGMAT books, GMAT club tests, OG thoroughly.

I would recommend getting the additional question packs that you can buy for GMAT Prep, so you can keep practicing with that, but with fresh questions. I would recommend getting the GMAT Quantitative Review and the GMAT Verbal Review, two books with new questions, so again, you can practice with fresh questions.
I believe that Magoosh is one high quality source you are overlooking, and I think it can give you the edge you seek. Here's a practice SC question:
