Hi all
I am relatively new to the forum but have gained a wealth of knowledge over the past week -
so a big thank you for the helpful posts!Decided to post this because had a super disappointing experience today and am
looking for motivation and hopefully examples of people who got into top B-schools despite multiple GMAT retakes.I have read multiple articles and have seen most say that many
top-tier schools (include HBS, S GSB, W) look to the highest GMAT score when assessing the applicant, but is this really the case?I know a decent # of ppl that have gone to these schools, but all of them have all have taken the GMAT only once.
Does anyone know of applicants who have been asked for an interview or given an offer from these schools after taking the GMAT 2 (or 3 or 4!) times?I am definitely shooting for these schools and believe I have the general stats otherwise to at least qualify for an interview, if I was able to score 720+
I have had two horrible GMAT experiences so far so currently feeling somewhat demoralized. I.e. I was scoring 700+ on practice tests, but due to unfortunate experiences on my test days (and a general lack of preparation - so I will take blame here - I essentially crammed for both in 2 weeks each) the scores were much lower than I anticipated and will not be competitive by general means - 650 level. Not bashing the score here - just have my hopes set on certain schools and also disappointed because I scored lower than my initial CAT scores.
If anyone has found success with their application strategies after a successful GMAT retake attempt (an accomplishment in itself!) - please do share your experiences
