Just came back from the GMAT.
After scoring 720 on my last practice exam, Official Score: 680.
I'm a mixed bag of emotions. I wanted any score that started with 7. I came SO close. And the drop was because I got FIVE questions on one of my weaker topics - rates!. If I had gotten those half of those right, I think I'd have been writing a different story.
I wasn't sure if I should retake when I left - but on the rife back, I think I decided that I will. I just feel that my score was skewed down due to the type of question. Also, because I knew I probably got those wrong, I was trying to make sure I got others I might have guessed at right and took more time. So when I had about 15 more questions (usually have 30 mins left) I saw I only had 25 mins left and panicked a little and guessed some I could probably have gotten correct.
I'm still on the fence. I think we have to wait 30 days. My brother was telling me about all the ppl that he knows that got into HBS with 650 (I'm not applying there).....so idk. we shall see. My quant was also pretty weak (39).
C'est la vie. But I can't be so focused on this anymore - I need to work on essays.

24 hours later and I've decided to retake.
I know what I need to improve on for my score to improve. Everything I have read says that should be the key factor in deciding. I believe I can get a higher score with only average effort.
I'm right in the 80th percentile for most of my target schools and I would feel better if I was squarely in the middle. And with the new see before you report option - if my score is lower, I'm only out $250 (a lot for me, but imagine if a great score got me a scholarship)

You will get it next time! Can you please detail out your daily routine (weekday and weekends) that you will be using to score 700+?
