I've been at this for a while. I took my first official GMAT in October 2012, and retook for the 4th time today, where I ultimately decided to cancel my score. I employed a variety of strategies from keeping an
error log, doing the entire OG, regularly taking practice tests and even decided to take the
MGMAT in person course this past summer. But when it comes to test day, I have not been able to get the results I would see on my practice tests, and with the plan to apply for the Round 2 deadline, i’m considering what steps I should take to improve my candidacy,
There are other aspects of my application that are strong, but without a score that fits into the averages of the top 15 programs which I am targeting, I’m not sure if I should call it quits here and focus strictly on applications, or try to retake once before deadlines.
For those of you that have been through the process before, and may have had experience with a similar situation, what do you suggest is the best course of action here. Retake or call it?
I scored a 700, 670, & 680 in my practice tests leading up to the final exam.
Cancelled score of 610 today. Chalked up to game day jitters. Couldn’t perform today, and was freaking out over time. So if I could improve timing strategy, I see myself getting across the 650 range at least.
