Hi lvaish,

Thank you for sharing your story. When I look at your score progression, I see that you’ve improved with each GMAT; you’ve improved 110 points overall. So - first - you should take a moment to congratulate yourself on the progress you’ve made. Next - you should consider that if you’ve been able to come up 110 points, you can very likely bring your score up even more. However, you’ll need to be strategic and patient - increasing your score will require motivation and more hard work.

Are you coming up on your 5th GMAT in a 12-month period? If so, I think you need to be careful not to take the test again until you know you’re ready.

I have some questions for you that will help me provide a better response.

1) Do you have any of the MBA.com practice tests remaining?

2) Did you take any practice exams leading up to your last GMAT? If so, what were the score breakdowns of those exams? When you took the practice tests, did you take them under realistic conditions (e.g. in a quiet environment, no extended breaks)? Did you complete the entire CAT, including the IR and Essay sections?

3) What resources have you been using to study?

4) If you do retake the GMAT, how many hours a day can you commit to studying?

5) What are the MBA programs to which you plan to apply? What deadlines are you targeting?

6) Are you open to applying second round?

Warmest Regards,

Scott

Hi lvaish,

First off, a 650/Q47 is a strong score (it's right around the 80th percentile overall), so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Do you know which Schools you specifically plan to apply to? If so, then you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
