i thought today would change my life, but my life hasnt even budged a little. Feeling horrible. I thought I had prepared well.
Verbal has really brought me down, and quant isnt very good either. I mainly focussed on OG 10. Did Princeton and PP tests where I scored in 700's in all of them!!
Only yesterday, I thought I would take the GMATPrep and that really caught me unawares. Before taking the test I had thought that GMATPrep and PowerPrep were not very different. But when I took both GMATPrep tests i could score only 690 and 640. This really brought my confidence down. The real test is very similar to GMATPrep and nothing like Powerprep. PP is too easy !!
I prepared SC with MGMAT and used OG for CR and RC. I am bad at RC. But dont know how to improve that. I thought I was good at SC and CR, but I felt getting stuck at almost every SC and CR question(though I find it quite easy in the OG) . I got 4 RC passages. I saw a long passage towards the 34th question and hoped that I was doing well. But obviously I was not.
The real GMAT is much more difficult than I ever expected. Both quant and verbal questions were difficult, not like OG10.
I am totally confused and lost. I do not want to spend all this time and money again and have lost all my self confidence. feeling shattered and lost.

buddy, you're just 70 points away the elite range, please don't feel too diffident!! I think you did well in your practice tests, just that the two GMATprep pulled you down and consequently influenced your mental status on the test day. Many people here said that the mood during the test day is very critical to the outcome.
Just rest a while, don't mourn over the broken eggs, recall what you couldn't do well, what's the weak point, then give it another try!!
Remember that many members here didn't score well twice or even three times but finally they still got what they're deserved after so much endeavor and persistence.

I wrote the test a week back and got 640. Had the same experience as yours. I completely agree with you in that the actual exam is tougher and tricky than the practice tests. Anyway, dont worry on what happened. Lets try to do our best the next time.
