GREAT NEWS!!!

I am always very happy for the fellow GMAT friends, and you are no exception!!! Excellent work! Did you use the Challenges for such a top quant score or you were always strong in math? Can't wait for the summary of your experience, especially on the quant

hey thnx everyone...

no u2 i did not go for the challenges i was always strong in maths

if u notice the new gmatprep(while reviewing) u would find

DS questions= 18
PS= 19

i was slow in DS and made my mistakes here only

THOUGH one word of advice for PS : if u do not have any clue about the question, mark choice "D" or "E" ( as kaplan says, it worked in mocks for me)

returning back to DS: AD, BCE method works the best

whenever u check a answer do consider values such as 0,1,-1 and 0.1, 0.2..

more on this u2 if u can tell me what should i explain ?

@ selene: u helped me a lot, ur answers were great to my post, thnx a lot

@ u2: well when i gave my first mock without any preps i gotta 660
Q(48) V(27)
(it was an old ets one..powerprep)

i realised to get over 700 i would have to be impeccable in maths which was my strength and above average in verbal which i clearly screwed in this test.

so how did i go about it

Maths: I read all the concepts from OG, it does mention all the topics but explaination is not sufficient so what i would suggest is pick up a topic and read in detail from other books.

>>> first focus on number system : inequalities, absolute value , even-odd numbers etc.
>>> do not worry about permutations and combinations and probability.

Verbal: i am not satisfied with the answers given in 1000 SC so left them after doing 660 questions. Moreover someone told me u can kill ur instinct by practising too many questions..well that depends on u ..

>>> Practise CR and learn the tricks that gmat tests regularly..
would try and list some if u want.

>>> SC can be learned if u practise..

>>> and trust me, RC on test is easy but timing is crucial (2 mins per Rc question max)

I personally would very appreciate if you could list useful some tips for CR.

One more question - Did you take any Manhattan GMAT CATs before the real test? What were your scores?

What do you suggest to do to practise SC without killing your instincts?
Thank you.

thnx again yeah i did give the Man G tests

mock 1 : 650
mock 2: 730
mock 3: 710

well for SC i am not sure what u should do, but i followed the manhattan SC guide, had every rule on my tips.

Do OG very well and see why any option is wrong, undersand it well, thats very important,i don't care if u do 10 questions a day but if u learn from those 10 questions thats more important.

after 10 days of SC practise u will have a good grip on almost all the errors but these errors troubled me the most even after that so i used to check every SC for these errors besides others

1) what is the referent of "it, they, their, its "
2) parallelism " especially for clauses: that.......that....,where......where..."
3) Modifier
4) if u see "that" look for subjunctive
4) Apple and Oranges
5) whenever u see "Consider" check that it exists alone i.e without as or to be.
