Hi all,
I took the Online GMAT today (June, 1st). Here is my debrief:
Past (2019): Took twice the GMAT last year (600 and 650). My prep was first Kaplan (I don't recommend), then I got
Target Test Prep for Math and E-gmat for Verbal (Both I approve)
2020:Because I got waitlisted in 3 schools (

), I decided to take the GMAT again. First I had it scheduled for March, but because of the pandemic, my plans changed.
I tried the empowergmat this time (both quant and verbal) and the way that it is organized helped me to stay focus in my 1 month study plan.
At first, I was very concerned about the whiteboard, but I practiced for the whole month doing everything in the whiteboard. So, I don't think that my quant score will be very different from the one I would have gotten in the testing center (I still believe that I would do better with the yellow pad, especially on geometry, long questions that demand a lot of calculations (a lot by GMAT standard)).
The whole process of logging in, taking pictures and getting the confirmation was ok. When you have your photos approved, the system runs in your PC, and then a message says that you are being recorded and if your face leaves the camera you could be disqualified. I froze that time because I had my phone in my hand (because you have to take pictures), so I turnt it off and put in the floor (threw it away!). THEN I READ that they could talk to me via my phone if there was a problem! I was like WTF!
I sat there for 15 minutes and then I got approved for real, so GAME ON. Also, I did not have ANY interaction with the proctor, not even a "hello". Things went very smoothly.
Main issue
:My keyboard is Portuguese (PTB) and the settings in the Vue software changed it for english, so it messed me up big time (+, /, -. *, ^) all these characters were different, so I had to go with the pencil to do my work... that kind me put me in a position that I wasted 30 seconds to figure it out if go for the pencil or go with the english keyboard (and try to guess where are the characters!). So International Students beware of that!
I think that my score will be close to my 650... not sure if I did better or worse (I felt that QUANT I did worse), so lets see.
When I get my score, I post it here!
Regards from Brazil!
