Awesome piece of writing and congratulations on the great score. Could u kindly throw some.light on sub section wise verbal strategy?

Thank you! For RC, read, read, read, and then read more. And push into difficult/intellectual topics like theoretical physics or military history (even at a high level). Depending on your baseline, you may want to start working through 700-level LSAT passages. They are longer and provide much more content once you exhaust your limited OG materials.

For CR, I just worked on hundreds of problems, read the Powerscore CR Bible, and worked through TTP's CR materials. CR is a super hard sub-section to master; I certainly never did... CR also requires raw reading skills, so any random quality reading helps too.

As noted in the debrief, I was lucky to only have to work SC practice problems. I never had to dig into theory or notes, which was super lucky. This is probably because I am a native English speaker with a decent grasp of the written word.

I've exhausted OG questions for RC and have turned to LSAT. While I agree with you that thay the passages are lengthy and that they could help increase our comprehension skills, don't you think that the LSAT questions are relatively easy? The GMAT questions (especially the medium-hard) ones have choices that are close to each other. I rarely find that on the LSAT questions

The LSAT questions are outstanding practice. If you’re looking for harder LSAT questions, just use GMAT Club to filter by “LSAT Official” and “700-Level.” Admittedly, because of the time constraints of round 2 deadlines, I did not dive extremely deep in to LSAT. But in my limited experience, the questions were well worth my time.

Congratulations on the spectacular score, eled34! Glad that we could add a bit of humor to your GMAT journey.

I feel like I should say something funny now, but I'm actually kind of unfunny in real life. Can we talk about food or something instead?

Good luck with your applications, and seriously: please let us know where you land!

Thank you for the kind words! I thought Khan Academy was a non-profit (I could be wrong) though I am sure they could benefit from some competition :D

Haha good point. I was referring to the scale of the platform. The content here and especially the product/user community is strong enough to expand well beyond the GMAT...

Hey Eled34! Thank you for the debrief, I am wondering how many hours in total did you put in?
Like yourself, I took economics / finance in my undergrad and I believe I fall into the third category. I started off with a 540, and after 200+ Hours of studies I was at a 630. I am working on harder OG questions as well now and aim to go forward to a 700+.
Thanks for your post

That’s awesome to hear! My Excel prep schedule says 753 hours. However, this is likely an understatement and misleading. The number does not include countless hours I spent reading or reviewing flashcards, among other random GMAT-related activities. The number is also not “quality-adjusted.” That is to say, it includes the poor-quality study I did early on (perhaps first 250-350 hours) AND the high quality study in the second half (perhaps 350-450 hours)

The bottom line is that you commit to a certain score, you should be able to get there, but you cannot settle on a definitive number of hours. You will need to iterate your studies, and no two minds are the same. If you tell yourself you will spend 10,000 hours if necessary (it won’t be), you will get there.
