GMAT ONLINE REVOKED : HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Question

I had a horrible GMAT Online experience today .

Before starting the GMAT, I completed the necessary System check and passed in all respects ( microphone, internet speed, camera) . I checked my internet speed and it was 9.5 mbps.

After halfway through Quant section, I got prompted through chat by proctor that he is not able to see me. Needless to say, the pop up was extremely disorienting. I did not know what the issue was so I replied accordingly. because the camera was working fine . the test got paused and restarted . this happened for 3 times after every few questions.

After somehow completing Quant section, when i entered into Verbal section, again i got a prompt that the proctor is not able to see me and the video is blurred. then he said he will revoke the exam and i have to reschedule it again after discussing with customer care team. The gave me a Case ID as well.

This is so frustrating as I had taken work leave for this time period and the Enhanced GMAT online is also launching from 20th May . That means additional prep for AWA as well. Plus i read somewhere on gmatclub that we could not reschedule the test till next 16 days as the question bank is the same.

Has anyone faced this kind of issues? Any solutions anyone could suggest ? I have already written to their customer care but i guess i will be receiving a reply tomorrow.

Hi

I have read and heard about lots of terrible experiences of GMAT Online and they not only kill time but also put one immense mental strain. Doesn't the GMAC authority consider these issues as its shortcomings? Should GMAC make it clear what it is doing to make the test experience better?

Unfortunately I have not seen any cases or examples that would indicate any level of taking responsibility for the issues by GMAC. I think it would be a welcome sign and a very helpful one. Often when people complain about the issues they have faced with Pearson‘s procedures and behavior of proctors, GMAT prefers testtakers back to Pearson rather than looking into the case.

Hi!

Yes I have received a reply from GMAC. They have agreed to reschedule the GMAT free of cost through a voucher.

But the damage has been done. I have not been seen/ prepped for AWA section . Will have to start from scratch.

Still, I think its nice of GMAC to at least offer a voucher , otherwise it would have been really messed up!

Hi !

Yes, they should! Maybe that is the reason why they have moved from Pearson to Examity for conducting the GMAT Online . I am not aware if Pearson & Examity are the same entities. Although, the system check requirements for Examity is much stricter than Pearson : 
1. You have to download an additional browser into the system ( For those who were giving on work laptops, be aware. You will need install ES Secure Browser into your system. It may or may not be allowed by your IT team ) 
2. Internet speed test goes on for full 1 min. Checks 'both' download & upload speeds as well. I think Pearson used to check only the download speed in system check.

Hey  297402  , what medium did you use to reach out to GMAC? My test was revoked yesterday because of technical issues. Tried reaching out to examity support, they mentioned its a GMAC concern. I have emailed GMAC and waiting for a response.
