Hey all. This morning, I launched the OnVue application from my personal computer and the inevitable rainbow wheel appeared. My computer became unresponsive. I didn't let myself panic, luckily I have another computer, but it is from my employer. Nevertheless, I launched OnVUE from my work computer and successfully completed the check-in process. I was connected with a proctor. When she was about to launch the exam, the screen went blank. She told me I needed to visit my System Preferences. I wasn't able to unlock certain features because the computer is protected by my employer's administrator. I explained to the proctor that I wasn't able to log in without an administrator and that I was using a work computer. I told her about my personal computer. She said to try the process again on my personal computer. I communicated with her throughout- saying I was turning on my other computer, launching the program, and getting ready to begin the process again. She said okay, now that you are at this point I will revoke your old exam so you can start the exam on this computer. She then hung up the phone.
The next two hours involved waiting on hold to speak with customer service at Pearson VUE. Eventually I was connected with someone who was helpful. He was able to cancel my exam and I was able to re-register for another online exam for this coming Monday.
For those who had a successful experience, do you have any tips on making my next experience go smoothly? I will undoubtedly attempt to use my personal computer next time. Any other advice is greatly appreciated.
