You can actually read out loud at the test center. You’re welcome to mumble. There is no rules about not reading out loud for test center (as far as I remember, though there is a rule against this for the online version of the test).
I’m sure if you’re yelling they will have a conversation with you but reading out loud and reading under your breath is something a number of people do even who don’t have a separate room… which is why the rest of us use earplugs and headphones 😂
PS. On a separate note, the test center is usually a pretty noisy place - people typing essays, people moving chairs and coming in and out, doors opening, proctors doing things … you get the idea, so it is fantastic you got a separate room.
