I'm here looking for some pointers on my future study plan. Recently switched to GMAT Focus and it's clear I've got to brush up on the basics and do a ton more practice. Here's how my journey's been so far:
GMAT Mock 1 (11/5/23): 560 (Q44/V23)
GMAT Mock 2 (11/21/23): 640 (Q43/V35)
GMAT Mock 3 (12/9/23): 560 (Q36/V30)
Retook GMAT Mock 1 (12/11/23): 690 (Q44/V39)
GMAT Mock 4 (12/18/23): 710 (Q48/V39)
Actual GMAT (12/20/23): 610 (Q46/V28, IR5, AWA4)
GMAT Focus Mock (12/25/23): 585 (Q79/V82/DI76)
I combined the study with my work so it has not been easy.
For theory, I mostly used TTP and the Starter Kit material. However, I did not do chapter tests of TTP due to the time constraints. After finishing the theory, I took my first mock and saw that I needed to prepare more. I watched GMAT Ninja videos on Verbal and did Official practice questions every day (the amount ranging from 10 to 30 for verbal and 10 to 20 for quant). After, I did the second mock and got a much better score. I started to watch GMAT Ninja videos on Quant and continued to solve official practice questions (and also sometimes Gmatclub forum quizzes).
Unfortunately, in this phase of the preparation I got sick and the stress started to pile up. I did the 3rd Mock and scored very poorly. I knew that was not representative of my real abilities so I redid 1st Mock. The following week I continued to solve the practice questions and eventually got over the sickness (but not fully). I was thinking of rescheduling the official exam for two weeks if I got a score below 700 on my last mock but somehow I got above 700 so I decided to sit it (also paying another 60% of the price was not something I wanted to do). Got the said score and understood that I still need more work to be done.
Yesterday, I tried the GMAT Focus Mock 1 and got a score similar to what I have been getting but I was a little tired since it was after a long working day. It definitely felt easier and removed SC which was problematic for me.
I would love to hear some tips and get some guidance for my study plan.
