Routine Security Review Mail

Question

Hi all,

Took the GMAT FE Online on Friday, and I haven't received my official scores yet. I have taken the classic edition online once before and the GMAT FE once online prior too, and in both cases I got my scores officially within 24-30 hours of the exam.

About an hour back I received an email from GMAC saying that my exam is under a routine security review and I should know the outcome of it within 20 days. Is this cause for concern? I was really happy to finally be done with the GMAT..

The exam went smoothly, and there was no communication between the proctor and I after the exam started except regarding the break procedure (I did my exam in the order Q --> V --> DI, and after I finished quant I also explicitly informed the proctor that I would taking the break after the next section, and not this one). I ended my break with a couple of mins to go, including the post-break checkin.

AFAIK there were no loud noises at my house or any internet disruptions during the exam (although the next button for ONE question in DI did take about 5-6 seconds to perform the action).

Any ideas?

How much did you score in official exam.. if its unusually high then such things happen else ignore..

Scored a 735... My last exam was on April 1st and I got a 655 but that was probably just a bad day since out of my 7-8 mocks I only had one score below 700, and scored as high as 765 on a mock

Hey there,

As far as I know, very high scores (which seems to be your case) are usually scrutinized a bit more to ensure the score was achieved through fair means. I think everything should be fine as far as nothing unusual occurred during the process of taking the test.

However, I know a few people whose high scores were canceled after this review and unfortunately, you don't stand much of a chance when GMAC cancels your scores.
