You likely got a few easy questions wrong; however, can you also tell us how you were scoring on your official GMAC practice exams?

Sorry to hear, keep the game on. I got two wrong and got a 81 on my first attempt.

Don’t worry about the algo too much and try to get the first 6-8 questions right.

Room for error is much lower on this new exam.

Practice, practice practice

I think I am, 645 is a good score, I have 8 years of work experience so I want to make that count.

I have one practice test left and I am debating if I should take another attempt don’t think I have the energy right now and the summer is slipping away, times are tough lol

It is a great score and A lot of the achievement is not just the number but the journey. It’s funny sometimes to hear debriefs from people who have gotten a 760 or 780 but then they start the story by saying that their first diagnostic test was a 720 😂 they lose my attention point...

I hear you about the GMAT. So many things have to be right and so many things can go wrong on the test that another attempt is a serious undertaking. Only if you under performed on the test compared to your practice scores or if you see clear improvement areas, only I recommend retaking but we are pretty close to the application deadlines... it’s no good to be fighting 2 wars, application war and GMAT war.

Hi Federico_F_,

You likely got a few easy questions wrong; however, can you also tell us how you were scoring on your official GMAC practice exams?
Hi Scott, i'm using the TTP study plan to prepare for the GMAT,
before i tell you my scores i'll give you some context, i started my prep with a tutor at the end of February, at the end of the course i took 3 Official Practice Test with such result:
-First Official Mock: 495, Q72, V81, DI71
-Second Official Mock: 555, DI76, Q76, V81
-Third Official Mock: 505, DI76, Q68, V81 (while i was doing the Quant i had some prob with my connection, so some question have been lost)
So i decided to start a new path with TTP, i'm at 45% of the Study Plan but i had to take the GMAT test that i planned before the start of the course. So here i am
For what it counts, on the GMAT Focus Adaptive Test of GMAT Club i usually score 77, now i'm proceding with the study plan.
Any tips would be helpful, many thanks

Yes thanks, at best I can only improve my Quant at this time to 83 - 84 that will at best improve my score from 645 to 665 at best, so I am not convinced I need to write the exam again.

Yes applications are close so want to shift focus there in August.

Last saturday i went for my GMAT test, and got a delusional 545 (Q72, V81, DI78). Today i got the result and i was quite surpriesed to see that i got only 7 questions wrong on the Quant section, while on V i got a 16/23 and 11/20 on DI. I know for sure that i missed 1 easy question (my bad) but i really don’t get how it is possible to get such a bad score with so few mistakes...

I’ve got wrong the question nr.: 1-6-10-12-15-20-21

P.S. Just taken a mock and scored 77 in Q with 9 (nine!) wrong question, what am i missing?

Hi. Couple of more questions for you:
  1. Did you warm up before the Quant section?
  2. How was your timing? How much time did you have left? I see you got 20 and 21 wrong. Were those guesses?
  3. There are some fail-safe mechanisms in the Quant questions - you have to get a certain number and so you either guessed or made some calculation mistakes. What number of questions did you have to guess?

No i didn't warm up, the timing was good, i wasn't feeling any pression and i've ended the section with something like 30 seconds remaining, and used them to relax, for what i'm able to remember i guessed 2 or 3 question, since they were taking too much time,

here is my timing index
