Hi everyone,
I recently took the GMAT Focus on Feb 17th and scored a 645. While this was under two months of preparation, it is below my target. I am planning to have a retake booked for March 5th (about 10 days away).
I'd love some expert eyes on my ESR data and my current 10-day sprint strategy.

I recently took the GMAT Focus on Feb 17th and scored a 645. While this was under two months of preparation, it is below my target. I am planning to have a retake booked for March 5th (about 10 days away).
I'd love some expert eyes on my ESR data and my current 10-day sprint strategy.
My Profile & Goal:
- Demographics: 28M, Indian, Senior Frontend Engineer (7 YOE).
- Target: INSEAD Round 4 (Deadline March 10) / Wharton.
- Goal Score: 685+ (I need to bump this up to be safe for my demographic).
The Test Day Reality vs. Mocks:
- Actual: 645 (Q82, V82, DI82).
- Mocks: I was consistently hitting Q90 and V85. Surprisingly, DI was my absolute panic section during mocks (averaging 76), but I ended up getting an 82 (90th percentile) on test day by strictly following a bailout strategy.
The ESR Autopsy (Where I leaked points):
- Quant (Q82): I believe I got nervous and panicked a bit while giving the test and made some errors in the questions that I would have done correctly otherwise.
- Verbal (V82): RC fatigue. I did 9 questions wrong total, and 6 of them were Reading Comprehension. My specific weakness is "Identify Inferred Idea." I also did 4 of my last 7 questions wrong because I was running out of time, and I read the questions fast and tried to answer them as quickly as possible.
- Data Insights (DI82): I was consistently scoring badly in DI in the mocks (I gave Experts Global Mocks), and I was worried about my DI while going in for the test. I believe this anxiety led me to mess up my other sections. DI was my last section, and I was doing DI, I felt that I was doing better, and that showed in the results also.
My Questions for the Experts:
- Is there a specific way I should practice the quant in these few days so that I am able to score high in the quant?
- How can I improve my overall score and what do you think were the factors that led to my lower score?
- Would my current score be good to apply to INSEAD or Wharton, given my experience and profile?

An update, I gave my second attempt on 6th March, and got the official score of 695 (Q88, V84, DI82). So glad with the result and the hardwork i put in. Increased my score by 50 points in two weeks by only slightly changing my strategy and understanding the mistakes I made in my last attempt.
I had given so many mocks, but the highest I got in those was 675 once, and almost all the mocks were in the range of 585 - 655. But I did not treat mocks as final scores or representation of my ability; I tried to understand the problems with my approach and why I did that certain question wrong.
Time management was also one of the things I improved upon, something that actually helped in increasing my score.
