Great score!! This should get you into the business schools you want.

Could you post your practice test scores. Its a relief to know Verbal is in line with GmatPrep and OG ( am I right?).

Thanks.

Good Luck with your apps

You're right. My Verbal score is in line with GmatPrep/PowerPrep.

I think your time is better spent working on your essays unless you think you could take the test again with very little additional preperation in a month and increase by 30-40 points.

That's the question.

Maybe I can take gmatprep 2, which I've never tried. If I score 740+, I will reschedule another real test. If I don't, I'll forget about the re-take.

Congrats for a fabulous score. This score is good enough to take you any business school. I would suggest you focus on your essay part and try to have some good extracurricular activities. I think those count more than 10 or 20 points more in GMAT. And yes you should be clear in your mind which bschool you would be applying and if you are in their median range then GMAT score is not much help after a certain stage of selection process.
good luck

Congrats! Good score! :)
You may send your score, finish your essays and retake if you feel that you can better. Why not? At the same time I think that essays are more important than 20-30 points in GMAT.

Anyway, you can ask me any questions if you decide to retake :)

Good luck with apps!!!

AWA: 3.5

I knew that AWA wasn't good, but I'm surprised with that 3.5.

13% percentile

This is just going from bad to worse.

I have just found out that schools can see your essays. And I took an unethical point of view in one of my essay.

Deep breaths - you have a great score, be happy!
Now if you plan to apply for Round 1, I would say don't take it. If you plan to apply for Round 2, sure, give it another shot.

I wouldn't worry about the unethical point of view too much - the point of the issue and argument essays is to prove that you can structure an argument or opinion efficiently and successfully. Think of it like debate class, sometimes arguing for something unethical or unpopular is needed in order to understand the ethical point of view.

AFAIK, schools may choose to see your essays&photo. Or may not. This depends on the school, I guess. And not all schools care for AWA at all. Some do, however. :?
So, Lumone, if you believe that you did better than 3.5, you may consider to apply for rescoring. It would be a pity to retake just because of the AWA...

Here is the link with details:

https://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT/TheE ... ervice.htm

Only AWA can be rescored. Rescoring service costs $45. Also, there's no guarantee. Your score may even become lower...

lumone, you're kidding. "unethical point of view" - AWA is just an exercise :) I read the blog of one guy who had AWA3.0 and went to HBS (also accepted by Chicago & Wharton). Actually he graduated this spring. So that stop worring and make your essays. Good luck!!!
