Folks,
First, I want to thank every member on this forum. Although I was not an active contributer, the various posts helped me tremendously. I want to especially thank people who posted their GMAT journey (these almost always pepped me up when I was depressed due to my perforance on practice tests
Here is my preparation summary-
Total Time- approximately 3 months (along with full time work)
Approx. 2 hours in the evening and approx. 8 hours on weekends.
For working professionaly, it is hard to study regularly but even if you do just 10 questions, believe me it helps doing questions "everyday".
Books -
GMAT Review (kept log of errors and also made a list of the fundamentals being tested).
Thoroughly did all questions from this book
Sentence correction from Manhattan Review- Excellent
Numerical Properties from Manhattan Review - Excellent
Quantative Diagnostic Tool (purchased at mba.com) - 3 tests, excellent, closely represent the actual GMAt quant
GMAT Prep - 1 and 2, retook them 2 times
Scores
GMAT Prep 1 - 680
GMAT Prep 2 - 680
Manhattan CAT 1 - 660
Manhattan CAT 2 - 700
GMAT Prep 1 (retake) - 720 (approx. 15% questions were repeated, hence higher score)
GMAT Prep (retake) - 730 (approx. 15% questions were repeated, hence higher score)
I had very little time to prepare, hence decided not to get bogged down by my score and adopted a learning approach till the end.
FOLLOWING ARE VERY IMPORTANT IN MY OPINION-
CALMNESS ON TEST DAY (its just an exam!!)
CONSISTENCY (no matter if you do just 10 questions, do them, open the book everyday)
LEARNING APPROACH (don't get daunted by the exam, the principles being tested remain the same so adopt a learning approach)
Unfortunately due to time constraints, I did not get to prepare much for AWA, ohh well, I'll find out when I get my scores.

I agree completely on the study every day learning approach. I am currently a junior in my undergrad and work full time along with it, but I tried my best to do at least some practice every day (if not 3-4 times a week). It was extremely helpful, the GMAT is like speaking another language, the more you do it the more comfortable you are with it. I ended up getting a 700 last summer, and I attribute it all to just cracking the books regularly, as I am doing now in preparation for taking it again this summer. Highly recommend studying every day.
