I totally understand you position, I was in the same state a few of months back (Coincidently, I wrote the GMAT last may and scored miserably).
What did I do? I read through many many posts on this forum, this helped me gather some valuable information. I was sure, I had to do something different in order to score above 700 (at least, that’s what I'm hoping!)
The below might help, see what fits you :
1) Back to basics - I bought a few
Manhattan GMAT series books, to polish my fundamentals.
2) Taking care of myself - I felt this was important to me, I have loads of reasons.
3) Books & tests - List the books & tests that are important (search through this forum)
4) Duration - Generally speaking, 3 months is sufficient, however, depends on you.
5) Be truthful to yourself - Focus is the key! its very tough to motivate yourself to study after a long gap.
6) Vs - List what you previously studied & how Vs what you plan to do. Very important.
7) Make a plan - Example: 12 weeks...w/k 1 - I'll finish xxx, w/k 2 - yyy. Try to work more on the weaker areas.
